Just recently, we inspected a sedan from a well-known Japanese luxury brand and discovered a hidden listening device.
The microphone was concealed behind the decorative panel of the front console, while the rest of the components were tucked inside the central tunnel cavity between the front seats.
We were able to detect the device thanks to its signal emissions and also visually — due to extra wiring that was unusual for this car model.
During the inspection, our specialists detected an Apple AirTag using a software locator. The driver was immediately informed about the finding.
Everything followed the usual pattern – a “classic set” for an audio surveillance device: a microphone, power adapter, GSM relay for remote control, 4G modem, and a digitizing unit. The device was connected to the vehicle’s standard wiring, meaning it could operate almost without any time limitations.
