The Orion 2.4 HX is a non-linear junction detector (NLJD) manufactured by Research Electronics International (REI, USA), designed to detect and locate hidden electronic devices regardless of whether they are transmitting a signal or completely powered off.
The device operates at a frequency of 2.404–2.472 GHz and identifies semiconductor elements (microchips, transistors, diodes) in walls, floors, ceilings, furniture, and equipment by analyzing the 2nd and 3rd harmonics of the reflected signal. Receiver sensitivity for both harmonics is -140 dBm, allowing even the smallest electronic components to be located.
The unit is used to search for bugging devices concealed in premises and vehicles, including devices that were deliberately switched off to avoid detection by radio-frequency detectors.
Detects:
✔ Hidden microphones, voice recorders, and video cameras (including powered-off units).
✔ Radio transmitters (bugs) and GSM modules regardless of operating mode.
✔ Electronic components of bugging devices concealed in walls, furniture, and equipment.
✔ Small modern electronics – SIM cards, chips, mobile phones.
